Special Issue on SMEs and E-Business Innovation in Africa |

The special issue seeks to explore the experiences of African SME’s in conceptualizing, developing, adopting, and using e-business/e-commerce innovation in newly developed or existing firms in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The issue aims at disseminating research output on e-business/e-commerce initiatives from African SMEs perspectives to both academic and business communities.
While encouraging first-rate academic papers, we are primarily also open to practical case studies that reflect SMEs initiatives, interaction, and experiences with e-business/e-commerce technologies. Submissions should seek to cover the following themes:
- E-business models;
- E-business start-ups;
- E-business development processes;
- E-business adoption;
- E-business/e-commerce project implementation;
- E-business infusion;
- E-Payment Systems;
- E-Entrepreneurship;
- E-business application systems;
- E-tailing;
- E-media;
- E-procurement;
- E-Portals;
- E-marketing;
- E-marketplaces;
- Mobile commerce; Other innovative applications areas
Submissions- Papers should not normally exceed 15 Journal pages (about 8000 words including references, tables and figures).
- Practical case studies (up to 5000 words/8 pages)
Academic papers (from 7000 to 8000 words/15 pages) - Authors should follow the AJIS Submissions Checklist and the AJIS Paper Submission Template at http://ajisonline.com/ (all papers which fail to use the submission checklist and the template will be rejected without review).
- Papers should be submitted through the AJIS online paper submission system at http://ajis.icitd.org/index.php/journal/information/authors (Select the Special Issue on SMEs and E-Business Innovation in Sub-Saharan Africa during submission).

Important Dates- Papers may be submitted to this special issue any time before August 1, 2010
- Notification of Acceptance – September 30, 2010
- Final Submissions of Camera-Ready Papers – November 1, 2010
- Publication Date – January 2, 2011
